Enter TOOTHPASTE! (not the gel kind, you need the white kind)
This is an awesome trick that works, and yes I have used this trick. Works best for nail holes and tiny cracks but it does work.
What you Will Need:
- White toothpaste
- flat knife (or something to spread it with)
- bit of fine sandpaper (dollar store sells this)
How to Cover Holes in Walls with Toothpaste
Step 1 - Spread a little bit of toothpaste on your flat knife and spread over the hole so that the toothpaste is left in the hole
Step 2 - Let harden
Step 3 - Lightly sand the area
Step 4 - Paint
I have used this method on small cracks too, and it works well.
Perfect for Renters
This is especially true, if you have told the landlord you would fill in nail holes from your many pictures you had on the wall, or maybe you have just moved in and are dealing with the last tenants wall holes!.

You can paint right over hardened toothpaste it won't crack or fall out. It is the perfect supplement to your DIY kit. I love finding ways to fix things on the cheap that work with things you have around the house or dollar store finds.
Check out this video to see this guy in action. I didn't sand the area first as the wall was OK, but it is worth checking it out. He also polishes a trophy with it.
You can easily spend hundreds in a DIY store getting things that you may just use a tiny bit of and then they sit in your closet or basement until thrown out on moving day!
So, check this book out that I found online on using everyday household items to help with your day to day life.
I hope this toothpaste idea has you thinking. It is nice to start with or leave a fresh wall without nail holes and not spend too much money. If you only use the gel kind you could even get a tube of typical white toothpaste at the dollar store and make yourself a little DIY kit.
